Any creature that is created through the use of the negative material plane.
EPC Subtypes include:
Ghoul Emaciated, hunger driven undead
Lifelike* Easily mistaken for living creature
Mummy Mummified / in ritual burial wrappings
Skeleton Corpse lacking soft tissue
Zombie Rotting corpse
Incorporeal Ghostlike creatures with no physical bodies. Incorporeal creatures may also have another subtype (such as Lifelike or Skeleton etc)
* The guilds warn students that these undead are often difficult to visibly distinguish from living creatures of the host species, for example a Vampiric Orc may look like a living Orc until closely examined. Fortunately, the spiritual difference will be immediately obvious to one who can discern undead.
