Cause Wounds I-III
LEVEL Minor Moderate MajorCOST 1 5 9RANGE TouchTYPEEssenceMONSTER HITS 1 5 9TBP & LBP DAMAGE 3 15 27METHOD Whilst Saying the vocals, hold out your empty spell-casting hand. Once completed, touch the intended Target within thirty seconds. VOCALS (Minor) "(Dragon) smite thee! CAUSE MINOR! ONE HIT!"VOCALS (Moderate) "(Dragon), wound thee here! CAUSE MODERATE! FIVE HITS!"VOCALS (Major) "(Dragon), cause these mortal wounds and let thy mortal foe die! CAUSE MAJOR! NINE HITS!" EFFECT Causes internal damage to the victims body through their spirit. NOTESThe Damage caused by these spells can only be inflicted by touching your victim with your spell casting hand, unless you also have the skill AMBIDEXTERITY I or higher, in which case you may use either hand whichever touches the victim first. Damage from the Cause Moderate spell and above can be shared between locations by touching each and stating how much of the damage is caused with each touch providing the amount caused in each location is a multiple of three or discrete Hits. For example a character can cast Cause Moderate and touch three separate locations and allocate 1 Hit (3 LBP) to the first, 2 Hits (6 LBP) to the second and the remaining 2 Hits (6 LBP) to the last location touched, or they could deliver a single Hit (3 BLP) to five separate locations. The exception to this is Cause Major which may be split into any number of locations by any amount totalling 27 LBP (on players, note Monsters usually have discrete Hits rather then TBP and LBP). Cause Major will break bones in a body location if all the damage is applied to one location. These spells have the opposite effect on undead, curing them the same damage as they would cause a living target and likewise mending bones instead of breaking them.
Cause Disease I-III
LEVEL Minor Moderate MajorCOST3 6 9RANGE TouchTYPEEssenceMONSTER HITS 1 2 3METHOD Whilst Saying the vocals, hold out your empty spell-casting hand. Once completed, touch the intended Target within thirty seconds. VOCALS (Minor) "(Dragon), inflict thee with Disease! DISEASE MINOR! ONE HIT!"VOCALS (Moderate) "(Dragon), inflict and pollute this person with Disease! DISEASE MODERATE! TWO HITS!"VOCALS (Major) "I ask the (Dragon) to inflict this person with Disease! DISEASE MAJOR! THREE HITS!" EFFECT Inflicts the target with a disease of a level equal or lower than the level of spell cast. NOTESThe Damage caused by these spells can only be inflicted by touching your victim with your spell casting hand, unless you also have the skill AMBIDEXTERITY I or higher, in which case you may use either hand whichever touches the victim first. A full list of diseases is given in Lesian Diseases. By their nature, Undead are immune to the effects of diseases, but can still be carriers of them. Monsters, summons and other creatures without battleboards suffer the following effects:
Monster Plague
Minor - Victim immediately suffers 1 Hit, and a further +1 Hit at the start of each subsequent encounter.
Moderate - Victim immediately suffers 2 Hits, and a further +1 Hit at the start of each subsequent encounter.
Major - Victim immediately suffers 3 Hits, and a further +1 Hit at the start of each subsequent encounter.
Damage dealt by Monster Plague cannot be cured until the disease is removed.
Drain Strength I
LEVEL MajorCOST 10RANGE TouchTYPEEssenceDURATION EncounterMETHOD Whilst Saying the vocals, hold out your empty spell-casting hand. Once completed, touch the intended Target within thirty seconds.VOCALS "(Dragon), Sap my enemies Strength! DRAIN STRENGTH!"EFFECT Reduces the damage of the target by 1 rank for all Weapons (including Natural Weapons), to the bottom of the new category. For example a Double (10-14) becomes a Single (5), while a Double Through (8-11) becomes a Single Through (3). NOTES Multiple castings of this spell do not stack. If the target gains the benefit of a Dragon Strength effect and a Drain Strength from any sources, the effects balance out to no effect. This means the target is under both effects but does not change their damage, a Double (12) would remain a Double (12) and so on as long as both effects apply.
Drain Dexterity I
LEVEL MajorCOST 10RANGE TouchTYPEEssenceDURATION EncounterMETHOD Whilst Saying the vocals, hold out your empty spell-casting hand. Once completed, touch the intended Target within thirty seconds.VOCALS "(Dragon), Sap my enemies Agility! DRAIN DEXTERITY!"EFFECT Forces the target to walk at Zombie Speed, but does not impact their fighting speed. NOTES Multiple castings of this spell do not stack. Creatures forced to walk at Zombie Speed may not run, charge or move faster than a gentle walk, however they may otherwise attack, block or dodge at normal speed.
Wither I
LEVEL MajorCOST 10RANGE TouchTYPEEssenceDURATION AdventureMETHOD Whilst Saying the vocals, hold out your empty spell-casting hand. Once completed, touch the intended Target within thirty seconds.VOCALS "(Dragon), let this persons limb be withered! WITHER!"EFFECT Causes the touched limb of the target to wither and drop off, causing the victim to lose one quarter of their initial TBP or Hits. NOTES Body parts take one hour to completely wither and become useless, when it should be strapped up in such a way that it cannot be used (safety permitting). Damage is inflicted when the wither time has elapsed. Damage inflicted on a lost location is counted on the nearest intact location. A REGENERATION Spell cast before the Wither time has elapsed stops the effect and no damage is caused
