if you do not have one, send an email to either Battleboards, Plot or Rules with what you want on your database using the below as a guide so they can create it for you. Making a version in Word or Notes with the Field Entries (Title, points range etc) and sending as a summary will be very helpful, allowing them to build and put it together with fewer questions.
If you do have one but are having difficulties or have questions, ask the Rules team by message or email for assistance.
Duplicate this page - when you are in Editing mode there will be command bar on the right:
Pages > Home / World Info / Adventure Sign Up / YYYY.MM.DD Adventure Template
When you hover over this page the option will pop up to Duplicate Page, which will then provide a default name "Copy of YYYY.MM.DD...", change this for your adventure (please keep the format, this helps with consistency for pages, sorting them, administering the site etc)
Once you confirm the name, it should open the new page in the current tab - you should not be in the Template page anymore, but if you are please go into your new page and continue with the remaining instructions there, to keep the main template intact.
Go back to the Fill in the details of your adventure in the text box below - example items have been added (Name, Points Range etc), but you can add or remove any as appropriate. This is just to let players know what they are signing up for and provide any IC or OC information they may need to do so.
You will need to replace the Responses and Form sections below with links to your new ones - if not they will link to the Template, which will get confusing when people fill in forms on different adventure pages and end up all in the same table.
In Edit mode there is the option to Delete them on the left edge - do this for both.
In Edit Mode on the command bar on the right go to Insert > Drive, then navigate and select your response Spreadsheet, then repeat for the Form (they should be in your recents if you have just created them).
Updating the Adventure Signup Page
Last thing to do is add your new page to this page - otherwise it will only be accessible though using the drop down and not shown here.
Scroll down to the Template section, and duplicate it using the option on the left.
Type over the description box, keep it short and simple
Click into the Title box with the hyperlink, it should pop up with an Edit Link option, and change it to your Adventure Page, if you search by name it should pop up (keeping the format to YYYY.MM.DD really helps narrow it down quickly!)
Click onto the Image and change the hyperlink in the same way - you may need to click on the image two or three times as it cycles through the selection before it's actually on the image.
Move the new Section above the Template one, if there is space above next to a previous Adventure Entry you can move your Adventure into an earlier Section - you will need to click out of the main box, then back on yours so it is selecting the Image, Title and Description as one item, then drag and drop it next to an earlier one - it will show some spacing lines while you do this to help you place it.
Go back to your Adventure page and Delete the Instructions sections, you can always reread them on the Template page.
If you need to move a given section up or down you can use the vertical 3 dots on the left, of them, next to the Palette, Duplicate and Delete icons. I recommend it goes Description > Spreadsheet view > Form, since most players will only need to use the form once and it would save them scrolling past it every time they want to check the Signups.
If you want to see what it will look like to a viewer there is a Preview option in the upper toolbar. When previewing you can see what the page will look like on PC, Mobile etc, and even test out submitting a form.
When you are happy with your subpage you can Publish your changes using the button in the top right - changes will be draft only until this is done, so you can take you time to check or change things before doing so. You can also go back in Edit mode to make changes later if needed, and version histories are kept if you need to undo a mistake.
Once published - that should be it! You have now created a page for your adventure with details, a summary list of people who have signed up to attend and a form for people to join.
Create a new Google Form for you Adventure
If you click on the example Form below while in Edit mode you should be able Open in a New Tab, do this.
In the top right click on More Options / Make a Copy, and enter in the Title for your Adventure (again, please keep the same format as the Page).
In the New Form, edit the Name at the top of the Fields to be the same as the Form name.
If you want to change any Fields (for example add or remove extra options to Play A / Crew B, Vote Y/N for food at taverns etc) you can do that here.
If you need to make any other changes to the way the Forms work you can do it from here, but it should remember the template choices so you shouldn't have to make any changes for most adventures. If you're not sure you can message the Rules team who can help you through this.
Create a Spreadsheet for the responses, or link to an existing one on the Drive
In the Responses tab there will be the data on submissions etc - should be 0 at this point - but there is also a Spreadsheet Icon in the upper right corner of the main box. Click this to output the response to a spreadsheet. You can select an existing spreadsheet on Google Drive if you have one or create a new one if not.
Creating a New Spreadsheet will open it in a new Tab, with one spreadsheet tab called "Form Responses 1".
If you selected an exiting Spreadsheet as the destination it will create a new tab within that spreadsheet called "Form Responses 2,3,etc". I strongly suggest renaming the tab to your Adventure name "YYYY.MM.DD etc" to avoid confusion with Forms for other Adventures.
Set the Sharing Permissions to "Anyone with the Link", this way people will be able to see the preview on the main page with who has signed up.
If you need to edit responses you can go into the spreadsheet and edit them there.
