Currently it has closed its borders to the Realm of Lesia.
Population: 1,700 (90% Elf, 5% Fey, 5% Other)
The home city of the Elven race, it remains a tree city and has centuries of intricate history and a complex culture. It resides on a fresh water lake with gigantic redwood and sequoia trees entwinned to hold the vast city at it’s centre. With passage ways and stairs cases almost moulded within the trees like they were grown that way. The city is a sight to behold, at night twinkling lights of soft blue and green are seen from the shores. The surrounding forested was given to formally King Kai as a gift during their alliance and has since been retaken by the Elven Realm. Only elves and elf-like creatures are permitted to live there, and non-elves are only let into the city if they have a special reason. There is a strong Mage Guild presence in the town, and some influences from the Foresters Guild. Sylvanost also has a notable Dryad population. Sylvanost is completely self-sufficient and exports a large quantity of fruit. The trees in the forest are magically enhanced by an ancient Ent caretaker and a circle of druids. Sylvanost is famous for its suspended tree-buildings, the garden of fruit, and the Grove of Dreams.
Ongoing threats to Sylvanost are Spriggans from the emerald ridge, goblins from Frag Keep, abominations from the Stinging Swamp, anything that comes out of the Badlands, and Undead from the ruins of Trinity.
Sylvanost is currently in its fourth incarnation. The first settlement was the original site of the ancestral Lesian elves. The second was a brief attempt to revive the ancient homeland, but was destroyed by Sharna. The third incarnation was started by a desperate group of Elven druids, and a renegade group SDU’s called the silver branch. The settlement was later taken over by Lady Flame. Currently their leader of the Elven city is King Elidyr Aelamin brought back through re-incarnation, with the help of the Druids and Witches of Lesia. Their close allies have also helped rebuild the city to its former glory.
All the buildings in Sylvanost were constructed with naturally gathered materials, meaning no trees were cut down in the process. The key materials used are: Colosicamore Bark, bark that breaks off the tree in fragments as thick as a man’s chest and as long as a boat. Weeping Vine, which grows from branches into long rope-like tendrils to collect moisture from the air. Emerald Elm Leaves, shield-sized emerald-leaves that dry as hard as plywood. Maplensare Sap, which act like a glue or varnish.
